Events

We are always planning ahead. Please let us know if you would like a visit to anywhere, if you can arrange a visit or even invite members to your home to use your garden or have a barbecue. Let’s work together to meet as many other members as possible. Because of my continuing mobility problems I really could do with some help organising visits to clubs, beaches and, if you are going on holiday, why not suggest others join you at that location?

Spielplatz – apart from offering a generous discount Spielplatz is inviting our subscribers to participate in events throughout the season. If you wish to camp, please book early. To obtain the discount you MUST have your VALID Shabden membership card with you and show it on each visit. All visits (whether Shabden or not) must be prebooked. Website Spielplatz.club for more information.

It was designed in the 1740s as a fanciful pleasure garden for the owner of Painswick House and his guests; today it’s a place to roam free, to get up close and personal with nature, or to feel the warmth of the sun on your face as you take in the spectacular views of the Cotswold countryside and magical follies. There will be no refreshments available, so please bring your own picnic and or drinks if you wish. Tickets cost £10 each for BN Members (£12.50 for non-members) and can be purchased from the shop at Painswick Rococo Gardens Visit – British Naturism (bn.org.uk).

28 May WNBR Coventry. Meet 13.00, ride 14.00, *IMPORTANT UPDATE*Due to issues surrounding the use of Hearsall Common as the BBC’s base for the Radio 1 Big Weekend, we have had to relocate the start and end point for the ride. We have reached an agreement with The Criterion Theatre Earlsdon, who have kindly agreed to let us use their car park as an assembly point. In addition, the theatre building will be open before the ride to allow us to use the toilet facilities and, even better, the bar will be open for a short period afterwards!! As the theatre is private property, we would ask all those attending the WNBR to show respect to our hosts and not to make excessive noise prior to the ride, as the theatre is located in a residential area. The theatre has also requested that anyone entering the building to access the toilets or bar be dressed when doing so.

2 July 18.30 for 19.00 All aboard for the rare opportunity of a naturist steam train ride on a summer evening along the heritage route of the Kent and East Sussex Railway between Tenterden in Kent and Bodiam in East Sussex. As we travel along the valley of the river Rother we will pass through some of the most attractive Wealden landscape in this corner of the country. As you approach Bodiam look out for the National Trust property of Bodiam Castle built in the fourteenth century for a former knight of King Edward III, Sir Edward Dalyngrigge. Built as a fortification against an expected French invasion during the Hundred Years War, it didn’t see action at that time but later it was besieged by Richard III and again later during The English Civil War by a Parliamentary force.
You can be naked all the way there and back, if you wish leaving your clothes in your cars in the ample car park at Tenterden Town Station TN30 6HE. Food will be served on the journey and included in the ticket pricing. The choice is bangers and mash or chicken curry with vegetarian options for both. There will also be a bar on board and the opportunity to purchase light refreshments. By the time you read this tickets will be available through the British Naturism Shop at £30 without food and £40 with. You will need to pre-order your food when you buy your tickets. The journey there and back will take 1 hour and 50 minutes.
The opportunity for a naked train excursion does not come up very often so do be among the first to purchase tickets for an almost unique naturist event. Spend a pleasant, light summer evening relaxing nude as you pass through some lovely countryside – let the train take the strain! Any questions about this event, please contact Keith Hillier-Palmer on keithpalmer17@yahoo.com or 07798 861467

2 July WNBR Portsmouth. Waiting for details.

3 July Visit to Scotney Castle Garden 17.30 – 21.30
One of our members wrote to the National Trust back in January expressing a wish to combine his National Trust membership with his love of naturism. Amazingly they wrote back and soon found a place to visit.
I thought it would be nice to have a picnic there, but arranging for them to be available to buy has taken many weeks! But finally you can buy a ticket at the British Naturism shop
It is a very romantic garden with a ruined 14th century castle and river fed moat. It is in a former quarry and so there is quite a descent on a metalled path.
The New Castle – which is the house – will not be open. Nudity is only permitted in the garden and nowhere else.
You can of course bring your own picnic and drinks should you wish.
Scotney Castle is at Lamberhurst with direct access to the A21. There is plenty of free car parking. Please do not arrive before 17:15.
Access to the event is by ticket purchase only – no access to non-ticket holders on the day.
Picnics will be one sale until June 16th only. There are a limited number of tickets.
I hope to see some or all of you there on the day.
Full information on the BN shop page, but please reply to ESNaturists@gmail.com if you have any questions.

September 17- October 1st Sue is booked to go to Corsica. Stay right on the edge of the water or a little further inland – no accommodation is more than 100 metres from the beach. Wander through the llama park (they and the donkeys enjoy your stale bread and bits of salad etc) and totally chill out. Riva Bella is situated within a SSSI and has lots of beautiful flora and fauna. Sue is flying with BA from Heathrow and has a taxi booked to take her to Riva Bella – there is room to share so if you take the same flight let her know – booking for accommodation is with Sue.
